Hello Soyoung and Karen! I’m Saejung, and I live in San Diego. I met Soyoung when I lived in Madison, Wisconsin about twelve years ago. I can’t think of a favorite minor character right now, but I will think about it throughout today.
Hi Saejung!👋 I know how crazy busy you are as mother to four beautiful children, but I appreciate you taking the time to read and think about my posts and for staying in touch, despite being on opposite sides of the continent!❤️
Love your sibs' faces in this image! I'm a daughter, wife, mother, friend, and perpetual student of the Word. Photographer/writer/author/speaker by trade. I'm also an HSP (highly sensitive person) which has affected and influenced much of my life. (My website is dorothygreco.com if anyone want to read my words or peruse my images.)
What a lovely request and thank you for telling us a little more about you! I'm Karen and I live in Kansas City, Missouri (USA). I'm a photographer by morning, a systems analyst by day and a wanna be writer at night. I was thinking about your ask, about minor characters, and realizing the books I most love are written about minor characters in the bigger stories "everyone" knows. I am always drawn to the women. So books like "The Red Tent" (Anita Diamant), "Wild Swans" (Jung Chang), and "The Book of Longings" (Sue Monk Kidd) that are all about unknown women in larger stories. Right now I"m reading "The Giver of Stars" and my favorite character is Marjorie, who isn't the main protagonist but she sure is one tough - and deeply kind and caring - woman. I think my own mother was this type of character, always in a supporting and less seen role while carrying so much of the burden. I often find myself in this role and choosing that role rather than to step out into the lead. I've left jobs because they tried to push me into those big lead roles. Thank you for asking such a generous question, I can't wait to read the responses.
Hi Karen, lovely to meet you and hear a bit about you! Thank you for taking the time to share - I haven’t read most of the books you’ve listed here, so they are now on my reading list! :) Also, I’m now subscribed to your newsletter. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts to the characters in MOULTING as it unfolds. Thank you for joining me on this journey!

I too am an HSP - I know we have to be as artists, but sometimes, I do wish I could turn off the sensitivity. :) Thanks for being here Dorothy!
Yes, I've often said I wish I had a dimmer switch.
When you find this please let me know how it works!
