This is a culmination of a year long project funded by the Live Arts Boston grant from The Boston Foundation.
After the screening, I will share about the process of creating GHOST ROOTS. You will also get to hear from some of my collaborators and have an opportunity to ask us questions! This will also be a great opportunity for those of you who are considering screening GHOST ROOTS. :)
This event is free and open to everyone, but I would love for you to consider donating to a cause that’s dear to me. I’ve invited RIA to be part of this event. RIA is a Boston organization working to support women, many of whom are BIPOC. RIA’s mission is to stand with and support people with experience in the commercial sex trade, and its associated exploitation, trafficking and prostitution, by providing a range of community-based services.
If you remember, I talked about my previous work with RIA on my second post of MOULTING, posted soon after the Atlanta GA shootings. It feels appropriate to invite RIA to this event and to invite you to help in their cause. GHOST ROOTS was fueled by the memory of all the Asian American women and elders who have died in the past two years.
It means a lot to me to share this work with you during AAPI Heritage Month. Looking forward to seeing you on Zoom on May 18th to celebrate Asian American women and our stories!!
